Description:

Customers with disabilities represent a large percentage of today's consumer population. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), over 50 million Americans have a disability, which means that approximately 18% of the population are suffering and navigating the effects of some form of disability. The U.S. Department of Labor has estimated that this population segment has around $175 billion in discretionary spending power, hence it's a market your business cannot and ideally should not overlook. Working diligently to serve these customers is not only good business, it’s your company’s legal obligation under the ADA. When you begin focusing on how to better serve customers with disabilities, making your business more accessible and inclusive, it can actually help you service all customers.

In this course, you will learn that:

● Recognize etiquette principles for providing customer service for people with disabilities

● Understand how to interact with customers with special needs through scenarios

● Design strategies for providing equal access and ensuring effective communication.
