Ship Security for Crew without Designated Security Duties (STCW A-VI/6-1) Training

STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 45 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 3 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 15 minutes)

Who is this course for:
Any crew onboard without designated security duties.

Is previous experience required?
No previous experience is required to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?
By ensuring that you have achieved the training requirements set out by the STCW Code.  This course will ensure that you are certified according to STCW A-VI/6-1.

STCW - Security Awareness, table A-VI/6-1

Is there an assessment?
The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.

Certificate:

When the training is completed a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.
